This week, we celebrated Engineers Week in 4th class. We learned all about the important role of engineers in our daily lives, from civil engineers who build our roads to structural engineers who would have ensured our school is safe and fit for purpose. We spoke about the importance of problem solving in engineering and put our problem solving skills to the test by:
- Making the longest paper chain from just 1 A4 sheet
- Constructing structures from spaghetti and marshmallows
- Constructing tin foil boats and seeing which carried the most 'passengers'
The children showcased their engineering brains and worked really well together while having lots of fun!
