In Ireland, the 1st of February marks the beginning of spring and the celebration of, St Brigid’s Day.
St. Brigid's cloak story tells how the Irish saint acquired land to build her convent in Kildare. After the King of Leinster refused to grant her land, she requested only what her small cloak could cover. Miraculously, the cloak spread to cover the entire Curragh Plains, forcing the King to fulfil his promise
