Our class marked the two weeks of Seachtain na Gaeilge with plenty of events. We introduced Frasa na Seachtaine (phrase of the week) where teacher vs the students in how many times they used the phrase. The pupils won on both weeks and were awarded with less homework and extra yardtime. Some pupils were also awarded Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine ( Irish speaker of the week) certificates. Ar Fheabhas!!
We watched programmes, sang songs and recited poems in Irish. We began to learn to play our tin whistles. The occasion ended with a whole school dance on the yard, where all classes danced twice in sync to Irish music.
