Student Council Visit to the Europa Experience and Leinster House!

11th May 2026

On Thursday, 7th May, our Student Council travelled to Dublin with Ms. Rawle, Ms. Farrell and Mr. Farrell for a very enjoyable and educational trip to the Europa Experience and Leinster House.

We first visited the Europa Experience, where our students learned more about the European Union and how decisions made within the EU can affect our everyday lives. Through interactive displays and activities, our students explored topics such as climate action, education, travel opportunities and the role young people play in shaping the future of Europe. It was a highly engaging experience and gave us a better understanding of how the EU works.

Afterwards, we made our way to Leinster House, where we were given a guided tour of the historic building and had the opportunity to see where important debates and decisions take place in Irish politics. A highlight of the day was meeting TD Michael Carrigy, who spoke to us about his role in government, representing local communities and the importance of young people becoming involved in politics and leadership. The children were also given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues important to young people.

The trip gave our students a greater appreciation for democracy, leadership and the importance of having our voices heard.

We would like to thank Ms. Rawle, Ms. Farrell and Mr. Farrell for organising such a memorable and enjoyable day for our Student Council.
